Important Update – Changes to the appointment system from 29 September 2025

Dear Patients,

As you may be aware, from 1 October 2025, all GP practices in England are required to implement changes to improve patient access. Under these new contractual requirements, practices must ensure that patients can access the surgery to request routine appointments during core hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm).

To meet this requirement and to manage the expected increase in demand safely and effectively, the Partners have agreed that we will be moving to a total triage model.

Starting from 29 September 2025, all appointment requests, whether urgent/same-day or routine, must be submitted by completing a short online form using our existing online consultation tool, AccuRx.

If you are unable to complete the form online, a member of our reception team will assist you in completing it over the phone or in person.

If you walk into the surgery, you will be asked to complete a paper version of the same form.

All requests will then be triaged by a member of our clinical team, and appointments will be offered as appropriate based on clinical need.

This is a contractual change we are obliged to meet, and after careful consideration, we believe that moving to a total triage model is the only safe and effective way to meet these obligations.
